Angela BrewerAngela Brewer studied at The Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, completing a Bachelor of Music Performance and an Honours degree. During this association she graduating with the highest qualifications in her field and was the recipient of The Mabel Kent and The Murray Ormond Vagg Scholarships for Vocal and Music Excellence. After graduating she continued vocal and operatic studies under scholarship at The National Academy of Music. The following year at twenty-two she commenced work with Opera Australia and has since performed in over 30 productions. Angela’s professional operatic experience encompasses roles and covers from Orphan - Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, Barbarina - Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Susanna - Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Sirena - Handel’s Rinaldo, Cleopatra - Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Heavenly Voice - Verdi’s Don Carlo, Page - Wagner’s Lohengrin, Ida - Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Nannetta - Verdi’s Falstaff, Clotilde - Bellini’s Norma and The Witch - Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. During 2003 Angela performed as the solo vocal artist with The Australian Ballet’s World Premiere of Wild Swan’s, by Meryl Tankard and Elena Kats-Chernin. The work premiered in the Sydney Opera House and toured to the State Theatre, Melbourne. Wild Swan’s received the 2003 Green Room Award for original music for dance. Wild Swan’s was recorded and televised on ABC TV. In 2001 Angela came second in the Singer Of The Year Competition. In 2004 she also came second in the Wiesbaden.
